For the ARC headquarters building in Washington, D.C. CGLA designed a new entry way featuring universal access elements as well as a placement for the ARC's signature redcross statue. The entry plaza serves to mark the achievements of the ARC throughout the decades as well as creates an elegant approach into the historic building.

For the Department of State, CGLA is currently working on a development Master Plan for the old Walter Reed Medical Campus in NW Washington, D.C. Our involvement includes working with over 600 mature native hardwoods to create a viable redevelopment opportunity for the campus. The concept involves walking paths, public open spaces, LED lighting, native planting and on-street bioretention areas.

For the Nation's most hallowed cemetery, CGLA provided site historical renovation sevices for the Amphitheater and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier grounds. The design featured new bluestone walking paths, decorative site furniture, a variety of planting upgrades and universal access upgrades.

As part of the Nation's largest federal project, CGLA was the landscape architect of record for the main entry road leading into the Department of Homeland Security's new headquarters at the St. Elizabeth's campus in SE Washington, D.C. The entry road is a ped/ bike friendly corridor, complete with bio-retention areas, native planting, LED lighting, previous paving and a local-field stone clad security wall.

For the Maryland State Highway Administration, CGLA created a variety of roadway focused low impact design elements on key corridors throughout Montgomery County and Prince George's County, MD. The designs focused on creating raingardens and other native planting areas to beautify the corridors, but more importantly, to provide water quality treatment.
